Olympic and Paralympic Games in Hamburg. An opportunity for everyone.
How do the Games become part of the city — and the city part of the experience?
For Hamburg's Olympic and Paralympic bid, Neuland Concerts developed the central idea of floating sports venues in the heart of the city. Building on this premise, I developed the scenographic concept for key venues — their spatial dramaturgy, staging and atmospheric visual world.
The aim was not simply to show venues, but to make tangible what this opportunity could feel like for Hamburg.

A floating sports city on the Binnenalster.
Neuland Concerts' idea of floating sports venues became the starting point for the scenographic concept. At its heart is the Agora: a multifunctional venue with multiple arenas. Further venues on the Binnenalster extend it into a temporary sports city in the centre of Hamburg.
The city is more than a backdrop. Water, skyline and public space become part of the staging — turning the Games into an open, shared experience.
The city is not the backdrop. It becomes the playing field.
An opening that grows from Hamburg itself.
The stage design translates the floating city into a powerful ceremonial image. Arenas, audience areas, light, water and Hamburg's skyline form one coherent spatial composition.
The renderings make scale, atmosphere and movement understandable at a glance — and give the strategic idea an emotional, communicable form.
Designed not only for the Games.
At the Heiligengeistfeld, skateboarding becomes more than a temporary competition venue. The proposal combines event architecture with a robust urban legacy.
After the Games, the site could remain part of Hamburg as a public skatepark — a lasting piece of infrastructure that keeps the energy of the event alive.
